Katherine Daley

Early Release Staff Attorney

Katherine “Katy” Daley joined SCP as a 2024 Equal Justice Works Fellow, sponsored by Microsoft and Fish & Richardson P.C.

Her EJW Fellowship is focused on aiding the implementation of prosecutor-initiated resentencing (“6164”) in Washington State, in addition to her work managing the Early Release caseload at SCP. Katy’s experience in post-conviction work began in law school in the Korematsu Center’s Civil Rights Clinic, where she worked on a Personal Restraint Petition for a juvenile with an adult sentence. She also worked on direct appeals for juveniles with adult convictions with the Post Conviction & Appeals Unit at the Legal Aid Bureau of Buffalo for a summer in law school.

Katy earned a J.D. at the Seattle University School of Law and a Master of Public Administration from the Evans School of Public Policy and Governance at the University of Washington. Prior to law school, Katy’s public-sector work focused on assessing DEI implications of public programming.
